Louise Jameson Talks Age Gap Romance & Love Triangle for Mary | Emmerdale spoilers 5th to 9th August

Emmerdale star Louise Jameson has hinted at more romantic turmoil for her character, Mary Goskirk. Jameson shared her thoughts on age-gap romances, saying, “If you’re old enough to be someone’s mother, it’s probably not a brilliant idea.” Mary has recently faced heartbreak after developing feelings for her friend, Susie Merton. Although Susie reciprocated, she chose to rekindle her romance with her ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Woodfield, upon Vanessa’s return to the village. After some misunderstandings, Mary and Susie settled on being just friends, but Jameson suggests that their story may not be over yet.
Jameson revealed, “There’s going to be a love life storyline, but I don’t know when. They keep dangling this carrot.” She expressed hope that Mary doesn’t become too happy and settled, as it would reduce the drama she loves to portray, including opportunities to lose her temper and exercise her acting skills.
The possibility of a future love triangle between Mary, Susie, and Vanessa remains open. Jameson commented, “Maybe a love triangle, maybe she’ll get together with Susie. I don’t know what’s going on yet, but I do think they’re a good match.” She also shared her personal views on age-gap relationships, acknowledging that while it would be a concern for her in real life, as it’s not ideal to be old enough to be someone’s mother, it does happen to many people and depends on the individuals involved.
With love potentially on the horizon for Mary, fans are left wondering if she and Susie will ultimately find their way back to each other. The upcoming episodes promise more twists and emotional moments in this ongoing storyline.
