A major exit storyline has been confirmed for Emmerdale, featuring a violent twist that will see Sunny Sharma leave the village. The departure comes as secrets about his half-brother Jai Sharma’s past actions come to light. Sunny recently discussed with Laurel Thomas the plans of his partner, Nicky Milligan, to leave Emmerdale. Nicky had a massive falling out with his parents, Ruby Fox Milligan and Caleb Milligan, following Ruby’s revenge on Ethan Anderson. Ruby ran Ethan over after an accident that seriously injured Nicky. Although Ethan initially survived, he later died from an unrelated aneurysm. Nicky was horrified by Ruby’s actions and his parents’ attempts to cover up the truth.

Desperate to leave the village, Nicky urged Sunny to join him. Laurel reminded Sunny that Jai would be heartbroken if he left, prompting Sunny to reconsider due to his strong family ties. Unbeknownst to Sunny, Jai has been involved in some heinous behavior, including taking revenge on their father, Amit. Jai then lied to Sunny, claiming Amit had returned to India without a goodbye and had excluded Sunny from the family business.

Jai’s dubious deeds are on the brink of exposure. He already fed Laurel a partial truth, omitting his role in torturing Amit and cheating Sunny out of his inheritance. Despite Laurel’s insistence, Jai continues to withhold the full story from Sunny. This tension leads to a heated argument where Jai hurls cruel insults about Laurel’s late husband, Ashley, causing Laurel to collapse and require hospitalization.

With both Bhasker Patel (Jai Sharma) and Bhavna Limbachia (Sunny Sharma) set to leave the show and having filmed their final scenes, the truth is poised to emerge, potentially driving Sunny away from Emmerdale for good.
