IT’S OVER! BREAKING NEWS: Emmerdale’s Danny Miller launches family festival for new project 8th July

Emmerdale star Danny Miller is taking his Albert’s Bookshelf series to the next level with a daytime festival for little bookworms.

The soap star has launched a family-friendly festival coming to Bolton on July 6 and 7.

The festival, which is set to include special readings from Miller and other guests, follows the soap star’s audiobook project inspired by his son Albert’s love of books.

Co-created with Capital FM co-host Nigel Clucas back in July 2023, the series sees Miller record audiobooks for children. His spoken word stories are available to download in several countries through an app, allowing tiny readers from different areas of the world to access the library.

“We’ve got an app that allows us to see where people are downloading it and there’s some countries, if I’m absolutely honest, I hadn’t even heard of,” Miller told BBC News last month.

“You know, I think, last time I counted, it was 119 countries,” he added.

The Aaron Dingle actor explained that his project has “kind of gone from recording a few books to being this sort of endless ideas of getting more education to the kids”.

Speaking about his return to the ITV soap last year, Miller didn’t seem too pleased with the new storylines involving Aaron and showing a darker side to the character.

“I’m more than happy being the soft loveable rogue that Aaron has always been – with a bit of an edge, but not so much edge that he’s just being horrible to everyone,” he said in a chat with Digital Spy, admitting Aaron’s behaviour got “a bit tedious”.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
