UNEXPECTED TWIST !!! Emmerdale announces episode change following Euros final

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has announced a planned change to an episode next week following this weekend’s Euros final.

Sunday’s (July 14) match will see England face off against Spain for the big title – and it seems that the ITV soap will be keeping up to date with the outcome.

Emmerdale has confirmed that a scene will be added to Monday’s (July 15) episode that will see Cain and Moira react to the match, and the episode will air as scheduled at 7.30pm.

The soap has also sent a message of support to the England team ahead of the game.

“The whole team here at Emmerdale would like to send our huge congratulations to the England football team on reaching the final of the UEFA European Championship,” producer Laura Shaw said.

“We wish them the very best of luck for Sunday and we are thrilled to be showing our support in Monday night’s episode of Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale isn’t the only soap to keep up to date with the Euros, with EastEnders adding a topical reference to an episode this week following England’s semi-final victory over the Netherlands.

In a scene between Harvey Monroe, Martin Fowler and Alfie Moon, Harvey asks: “You think we can go all the way?”

Alfie then replies: “We dare to dream, my friend. Dare to dream!” as the three share a hug and begin to chant.

Meanwhile, Love Island is set to make a rule change for the Euros final, with the Islanders allowed to watch the game despite usually not being allowed to be up to date with the happenings outside the villa.

The show’s Sunday episode will also still broadcast at its usual 9pm slot, despite clashing with the match in the evening.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
