Emmerdale Star Hints at Taking a Break from Soap Opera | Emmerdale spoilers 15th – 19th July 2024
Emma Atkins, known for her role as Charity Dingle in Emmerdale, has hinted that she might take a year-long break from the show in the future. Having portrayed Charity on and off for nearly twenty-five years, Emma shared in a recent interview that she is considering stepping away to explore other opportunities and travel. She mentioned, “I might take a year out at some point to do some traveling and take on other roles, but for now, I’m here to stay.” She emphasized her commitment to the show, adding, “As long as they keep writing brilliant stuff for my character and I enjoy playing her, I don’t feel the need to leave.”
Reflecting on a previous hiatus in the 2000s, Emma described it as a valuable period for her growth as an actor. “When I was invited back to Emmerdale, I felt I could bring even more depth to Charity,” she said.
In other news, Emma also discussed the current storyline involving characters Kane and Moira Dingle, who are facing marital challenges. She expressed optimism about their relationship, stating, “I think it’s brilliant because they balance each other out like yin and yang. While Charity and Kane might have too much friction due to their similar backgrounds, Moira’s morally upstanding nature complements Kane well.”
Emma praised her co-stars Jeff Hordley and Natalie J. Robb, who play Kane and Moira, respectively. “I’d love to work more with Jeff and Natalie. They’re amazing. My mom recently remarked on how brilliant Natalie is as an actress,” Emma shared.
Stay tuned to Emmerdale to see how these storylines unfold and to follow Emma Atkins’ potential future plans.
