Emmerdale Star Hints at Taking a Break from Soap Opera | Emmerdale spoilers 15th – 19th July 2024

Emma Atkins, known for her role as Charity Dingle on Emmerdale, has hinted at the possibility of taking a year-long break from the show. Having portrayed Charity for nearly 25 years, Emma expressed her desire for some time off to explore other opportunities and travel. In a recent interview, she stated, “I might take a year out at some point in the future to do some traveling and different jobs, but for now, I’m committed as long as they’re writing great material for my character.”

Reflecting on a previous hiatus she took in the 2000s, Emma described it as a valuable time that helped her grow as an actress. Upon returning to Emmerdale, she felt she could enhance her character even further.

In addition, Emma discussed the turbulent relationship between characters Cain and Moira Dingle, suggesting that despite their challenges, they will ultimately overcome their difficulties. She remarked, “I think it’s brilliant because they complement each other like yin and yang.” However, she noted that a pairing between Charity and Cain might lead to too much conflict due to their similar backgrounds. Emma expressed her enthusiasm for working alongside fellow actors Jeff Hordley and Natalie Robb, praising Natalie’s talent and acknowledging the chemistry they share on screen.
