Liam’s life is turned upside down when he discovers that Ella is pregnant. Ella, who recently returned to Emmerdale, confides in Mandy Dingle about her pregnancy after a car accident landed her in the hospital. Ella had left the village after it was revealed she killed her best friend as a child and spent her life moving from place to place whenever her secret was discovered. She hoped to settle in The Dales after falling for GP Liam Cavanagh, but Liam couldn’t cope with her past, especially after losing his daughter Leanna to murder by Meena Jutla.

Determined to start anew, Ella returns to Emmerdale, finds a place at the salon, and secures a job as a receptionist at the vets. Meanwhile, Liam has been trying to move past the pain of his relationship with Ella, realizing he still has feelings for Chas Dingle. He and Chas had started to become romantically involved before Ella’s initial arrival, but Chas’s breast cancer treatment led her to push Liam away. They almost rekindled their romance, but Ella’s return complicated things.

In the upcoming episodes, Ella begins to feel unwell in the street, and Liam rushes to her aid, shocked to learn about her pregnancy.
