Emmerdale’s Tom King gets unexpected news about Belle – and it leaves him giddy

Tom King (James Chase) has been moping around the Emmerdale village ever since Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) left for Scotland.

Prior to her departure, Belle had defiantly told Tom she didn’t want to be in a relationship with him anymore after suffering physical and mental abuse.

Belle then packed her bags and left for Scotland to spend time with Debbie and her dad Zak. While the break has no doubt done Belle the world of good, not seeing her has made Tom irritable and very desperate.

After texting her multiple times and receiving no response, Tom sent Belle another message in tonight’s episode and was thrilled when she replied.

Belle confirmed that she’d be back home tomorrow, which was enough to fuel him with a lot of hope.

At the King household, Tom updated Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and believed Belle texting him and returning home was a good enough sign they might be able to patch things up and get back together. A realistic Nicola reminded Tom that Belle had been ignoring him for a reason – but he didn’t listen.

Heading off, Tom was later seen at Dale Head sipping some red wine while on the phone to a friend.

Tom didn’t reveal what he was up to, but it was clear he had developed a plan ahead of Belle’s return from Scotland.

When she does eventually get back, Belle will be greeted by Sarah (Katie Hill) who reveals Tom has bought her a new car – a retro mini.

While this is going on, Tom has let himself into Dale Head. When Belle enters, she’s stressed when Tom starts talking about wanting them to get back together. Putting her foot down, Belle tells Tom that she won’t accept the car and definitely doesn’t want to reunite.
